Baptisms
Baptism is the Sacrament through which we begin our new life in Christ. Through it, we are cleansed of original sin and officially become children of God and members of the Catholic Church. Children from 0 to 7 years of age are normally baptized, and the main requirement for parents is that they practice their faith and attend Mass regularly. Those who are not members of the San Salvador Church are also welcome.
Bautismos
El bautismo es el Sacramento con el que iniciamos nuestra nueva vida en Cristo, a través de este, somos limpiados del pecado original y nos convertimos oficialmente en hijos de Dios y miembros de la iglesia católica. Normalmente se bautizan los niños de 0-7 años de edad y el requisito principal de los papás es que practiquen su fe y asistan regularmente a Misa. Las personas que no son miembros de la iglesia de San Salvador, también son bienvenidas.
Godparents
Godparents are the people whom the children’s parents choose to support them spiritually in their life of faith; therefore, they must actively practice the Catholic faith and have received the Sacraments of Baptism, First Holy Communion, and Confirmation. A candidate may have either one godparent or two. If two godparents are chosen, they must be one male and one female, regardless of their relationship to one another, in accordance with the norms of the Catholic Church. Parents and godparents are required to attend the Pre-Baptismal Preparation class, which is held on the second Saturday of the month in which the Baptism is scheduled.
Padrinos
Los padrinos son las personas que los papás de los niños eligen para apoyarlos espiritualmente en su vida de fe, por lo que deben ser personas que estén en comunión con la iglesia.Los padrinos deben practicar activamente la fe católica y haber recibido los sacramentos del Bautismo, la Primera Comunión y la Confirmación. El candidato puede tener un solo padrino o madrina, o bien dos padrinos. En caso de elegir dos padrinos, estos deberán ser un hombre y una mujer, independientemente de la relación que exista entre ellos, de acuerdo con las normas de la Iglesia Católica. Los padrinos junto con los papás, deberán tomar una preparación pre-bautismal el segundo Sábado del mes correspondiente a la celebración.
